1. Kevätkauden kurssiaikataulu

Kevätkauden kurssiaikataulu on julkaistu osoitteessa comets.fi/aikataulu!

Ilmoittautumiset aukeavat 1. joulukuuta lajeittain porrastettuna:

  • klo 21:00 boogie woogie, rockabilly, rock’n’roll, lapset ja juniorit
  • klo 21:10 fusku, balboa, blues, jazz roots
  • klo 21:20 bugg, collegiate shag
  • klo 21:30 west coast swing, lindy hop

2. Kevään kilparyhmät 

Cometsin kilparyhmät on tarkoitettu kilpailemisesta kiinnostuneille ja tavoitteellisesti harjoitteleville tanssijoille. Kilparyhmissä tanssijat saavat paljon henkilökohtaista palautetta sekä mahdollisuuden kehittyä motivoituneessa seurassa.

Lindy hop ja balboa viikonloppu - Moe & Vincenzo 27.2.-1.3.2026

Moe Sakan & Vincenzo Fesi ovat swingtanssimaailman arvostetuimpia tanssijoita ja opettajia, jotka ovat tulossa valmentamaan meille lindy hop ja balboa kursseja Helsinkiin! 

Viikonlopun ohjelmaan sisältyy bileitä levy- ja livemusiikilla. Lauantai-iltana lavalle nousee legendaarinen Antti Sarpila Swing Band, ja saamme nauttia opettajien Vincenzon ja Moen upeasta esityksestä. Ilta alkaa pre-party -tunnilla, jonka vetävät paikalliset opettajat Teemu Hirsimäki ja Minna Marttila.

Kaikilla yllä mainituilla kursseilla on vielä tilaa. Voit ilmoittautua mukaan yksin tai parin kanssa. 

Kursseille kannattaa rohkeasti ilmoittautua jonoon, vaikka haluamallesi roolille ei olisikaan tällä hetkellä tilaa. Jonosta pääsee kurssille, sitä mukaa kun vastakkaisen roolin osallistujia ilmoittautuu jonoon. Huomaathan, että ilmoittautuminen on sitova, kun olet saanut paikan kurssille.

4. Äänestä vuoden cometslaisia

Tiesitkö, että Cometsissa ei ole yhtään palkattua työntekijää pyörittämässä seuran päivittäistä toimintaa?

Seuran toimintaa pyöritetään 100% vapaaehtoisten voimin ja rakkaudesta lajiin. Yksikään kurssi tai tapahtuma ei järjestyisi ilman vapaaehtoisten arvokasta panosta.

Seuratoiminnassa riittää sopivia tehtäviä jokaiselle halukkaalle: toiselle sopii valmentaminen, toiselle viestintä, hallinto, talous tai vaikka kisatalkoolaisena toimiminen. Kaikkia tarvitaan ja kaikki ovat yhtä tervetulleita!

Kaikkein parasta seuratoiminnassa on vapaaehtoistyön merkityksellisyys, yhdessä tekeminen ja samanhenkisiin ihmisiin tutustuminen.

Näytä arvostuksesi seuran vapaaehtoisille ja äänestä vuoden cometslaisia! Vaikka ehdottamasi henkilö ei voittaisikaan, pelkkä ehdotus jo lämmittää saajansa mieltä. Ehdotetut saavat tiedon ehdokkuudesta ja perusteluista.

Vuoden cometslainen tunnustusta jaetaan kolmessa eri kategoriassa: 

  • vuoden seuravalmentaja
  • vuoden kilpailija
  • vuoden seura-aktiivi

Lomake on auki 31.12.2025 asti.

5. Eteisen remontti loppusilausta vaille valmis

Olemme uudistaneet Triplan tanssisalin eteistä päivitetyn visuaalisen ilmeemme pohjalta – moni teistä onkin todennäköisesti jo seuran somessa huomannut uuden väripaletin ja ilmeen. Remontti oli alun perin tarkoitus toteuttaa jo kesällä, mutta aikatauluhaasteiden vuoksi se siirtyi syksylle. Kiitämme lämpimästi kärsivällisyydestänne ja pahoittelemme mahdollisia remontin aiheuttamia häiriöitä. Remontti on nyt loppusilausta vaille valmis, ja näillä näkymin kaikki on valmista viimeistään joulukuun ensimmäisellä viikolla.

Eteisen remontin tavoitteena on ollut luoda eteisestä entistä yhteisöllisempi ja viihtyisämpi oleskelutila. Muutoksia tehtiin rohkeasti: keittiön paikka siirtyi, valaistusta uudistettiin, seiniä maalattiin, hankittiin uusia huonekaluja, ovien paikkaa vaihdettiin ja osa seinistä purettiin tilantuntua lisäämään. Huomiona, että eteisen valot eivät toimi enää liiketunnistimen avulla, vaan viimeisen lähtijän pitää aina muistaa sammuttaa valot.

Eteisen kruunaa taiteilija Laura Timantin toteuttama seinämaalaus, jonka inspiraationa toimivat tanssi ja avaruus. Avaruusteema kumpusi luontevasti seuran nimestä, Comets joka tarkoittaa suomennettuna komeettoja tai pyrstötähtiä. Eteisen maalaus toivottaa jokaisen tulijan lämpimästi tervetulleeksi ja virittää tanssin tunnelman jo ennen tanssisaliin astumista. Taideteoksen vihkimistilaisuus on su 30.11. klo 17:45 ennen syyskokousta, tervetuloa!

6. Comets valittu Vuoden aikuisten Tähtiseuraksi

Suomen Olympiakomitean asiantuntija raati on valinnut Cometsin Vuoden aikuisten Tähtiseuraksi 🏆. Tänä vuonna Tähtiseura-palkinnon painopisteenä oli yhteisöllisyys                   mikä näkyy seurassamme monin tavoin.

Raati perusteli valintaansa näin:

“Kyseinen seura on rakentanut upean yhteisön, jossa jokaiselle löytyy oma paikkansa. Seuran toiminnassa on mukana yli 1300 aikuisliikkujaa. Seura tarjoaa uusille harrastajille ilmaisia kokeilutunteja sekä kesätansseja, joissa tanssin ilo tarttuu ohikulkijoihin. Yhteisöllisyys on vahvasti läsnä ja toimintaa pyöritetään suurella sydämellä täysin vapaaehtoisvoimin. Seura voi olla ylpeä laadukkaasta aikuisliikunnastaan ja upeasta ilmapiiristä, josta he saavat kiitosta jäseniltään vuosi vuodelta”

7. Sopimusehtojen päivitys

Seuran sopimusehtoihin on tulossa muutoksia. Muutokset julkaistaan 30.11.2025 mennessä. Päivitetyt sopimusehdot koskevat 1.1.2026 jälkeen alkavia kursseja.

8. Syyskokous

Tervetuloa yhdistyksen jäsenkokoukseen päättämään yhteisistä asioista. Kokouksen esityslistalla on muun muassa seuraavan vuoden hallituksen valinta, jäsenmaksun suuruus, talousarvio ja toimintasuunnitelma.

Paikka: Tanssiseura Comets (Tripla, P4-kerros, Fredikanterassi 1, Helsinki)

Ilmoittaudu kokoukseen myClubissa. Tarjolla on ennen kokousta kahvia, teetä ja pientä naposteltavaa, sekä aulan taideteoksen vihkiminen klo 17:45.

Cometsin hallituksessa pääset eturivissä vaikuttamaan siihen, minkälainen vapaaehtoisten vetämä Comets on tulevaisuudessa. Jos haluat kuulla lisää hallitustyöskentelystä, ota yhteyttä keneen tahansa tämän vuoden hallituksen jäseneen, jotka löydät tältä sivulta. 

Muutamia uusia tarvitaan mukaan hallitukseen ja valiokuntiin, joten ilmoita kiinnostuksestasi tulla mukaan täyttämällä lomake tai lähettämällä sähköpostia puheenjohtaja@comets.fi.

1. The spring season course schedule

The spring season course schedule is published at comets.fi/en/timetable!

Registrations open on the 1st of December, dance styles are in this order:

  • 21:00 boogie woogie, rockabilly, rock’n’roll, lapset ja juniorit
  • 21:10 fusku, balboa, blues, jazz roots
  • 21:20 bugg, collegiate shag
  • 21:30 west coast swing, lindy hop

2. The spring season competition groups 

Comets' competition groups are intended for dancers interested in competition and targeted practice. In competition groups, dancers get a lot of personal feedback as well as the opportunity to develop in a motivated group.

The search for competition groups is open from 15.11. to 29.11.2025.

Lindy hop ja balboa weekend - Moe & Vincenzo 27.2.-1.3.2026

Moe Sakan & Vincenzo Fesi are two of the most respected dancers and teachers in the swing dance world. They coach Lindy Hop and Balboa courses for us in Tripla. The weekend also includes parties. At Saturday’s main party, the legendary Antti Sarpila Swing Band will take the stage. Additionally, see Vincenzon and Moe’s outstanding performance. The party starts in the pre-party class with local teachers Teemu Hirsimäki and Minna Marttila. Read more here. Registration opens on November 14, 2025, at 5 pm in myClub.

Feel free to register for the courses, even if there is currently no space for the role you want. You will be added to the course as participants once participants in the opposite role register for the course.
Please note that registration is binding once you have been taken to the course.

4. Vote for the Comets members of the Year


Did you know that Comets does not have any paid employees running the club's daily operations?
The club's operations are run entirely by volunteers, driven by their passion for the sport. No course or event would be possible without the valuable contribution of volunteers.
There are enough suitable tasks in the club's activities for everyone: some are suitable for coaching, others for communications, administration, finance, or even working as a competition volunteer. Everyone is needed and everyone is equally welcome!


The best thing about the club's activities is the significance of volunteering, working together, and getting to know like-minded individuals.

Show your appreciation for the club's volunteers and vote for the Comets of the Year!

Even if the person you nominated does not win, the mere nomination warms the recipient's heart. Those nominated will be informed of the nomination and the reasons for it.

The Comets Member of the Year award is given in three different categories:

  • The club coach of the year 
  • The competitor of the year
  • The club active of the year

Form is open until 31.12.2025.

5. Renovation is almost done at the Comets Club

We have renovated the hallway of the Tripla dance hall based on our updated visual identity – many of you have probably already noticed the new color palette and look on the club’s social media.

The renovation was initially planned to be carried out in the summer, but due to scheduling challenges, it was postponed to the autumn. We would like to thank you warmly for your patience and apologize for any disruption caused by the renovation. The renovation is now complete, with the finishing touches, and everything should be ready by the first week of December at the latest.

The goal of the hallway renovation was to create a more communal and comfortable living space. Bold changes were made: the kitchen was relocated, the lighting was updated, the walls were repainted, new furniture was purchased, the doors were rearranged, and some walls were demolished to enhance the sense of space. Please note that the motion sensor no longer controls the hallway lights. The last person to leave must remember to turn them off.

The hallway is crowned by a mural by artist Laura Timanti, inspired by dance and space. The space theme naturally emerged from the club's name, Comets, which translates to "komeetta or pyrstötähti" in Finnish.

The painting in the entrance hall warmly welcomes everyone who comes and sets the mood for dancing even before entering the ballroom. The inauguration ceremony for the artwork will take place on Sunday, November 30th, at 5:45 PM, prior to the fall meeting. Welcome!

6. Comets were chosen for the Adult Tähtiseura Club of the Year

The Finnish Olympic Committee's expert jury has chosen Comets as the Adult Tähtiseura Club of the Year 🏆. This year, the focus of the Tähtiseura award was community, which is reflected in our club in many ways.

The jury justified their choice as follows:

“The club has built a wonderful community where everyone can find their own place. The club's activities involve over 1,300 adults. The club offers new enthusiasts free trial lessons and summer dances, where the joy of dancing touches passersby. The community is strongly present, and the activities are run with a big heart, completely by volunteers. The club can be proud of its high-quality adult exercise and wonderful atmosphere, for which they receive praise from their members year after year.”

7. Terms and Conditions updated


Some changes are coming to the club's terms and conditions. The changes will be published by November 30, 2025. The updated terms and conditions apply to courses starting after January 1, 2026.

8. Association's autumn meeting

Welcome to the association's member meeting, where we will discuss and decide on everyday matters. The meeting's agenda includes, among other items, the election of the board for the following year, the membership fee, the budget, and the action plan.

Time: Sun 30.11.2025 at 18:00

Place: Comets Dance Club (Tripla, P4 floor, Fredikanterassi 1, Helsinki)

Register for the meeting in myClub. Coffee, tea, and small snacks will be served before the meeting, as well as the inauguration of the lobby artwork at 17:45.
