KURSSIN PERUSTIEDOT

Jatkotason kurssi on tarkoitettu rockabillyn alkeis- ja/tai jatkotason käyneille tanssijoille. Kurssilla opetellaan uusia kuvioita ja hiotaan alkeissa opittuja perusasioita; perusaskel, tanssiasento, liikkuminen, vienti-seuraaminen ja musiikin tulkinta. Luvassa on 50-luvun tunnelmaa ja rock’n’roll -musiikin asennetta. Mukaansa tempaava musiikki ja mukava ilmapiiri luovat oivalliset puitteet tanssiharrastuksellesi.

Pukeudu kurssille mukavasti, ota juomapullo mukaan, jalkaan matalapohjaiset tanssikengät tai muut liukaspohjaiset jalkineet.

Kurssin valmennuskieli on suomi. Tarvittaessa tärkeimmät kohdat käännetään englanniksi.

Kurssille voi osallistua niin parin kanssa kuin ilmankin omaa paria. Kurssilla on parinvaihto, eli paria vaihdetaan tunnin aikana opettajien ohjeen mukaan.

Valmentajat: Timo Huhtinen ja Helena Metsä (Rockabillyn Suomen mestarit 2023 ja 2024)

Aika: Kurssilla on kaksitoista (12 x 90 min) valmennuskertaa sunnuntaisin klo 14.00-15.30 ajalla 11.1. - 12.4.2026. Tuntien jälkeen on mahdollisuus puolen tunnin mittaiseen vapaaharjoitteluun. Huom! Ei opetusta su 1.3., eikä pääsiäisenä 5.4.2025.

Paikka: Tanssiseura Comets, sali 2, kauppakeskus Tripla, P4 kerros Down Under, Fredikanterassi 1, Helsinki. Katso tarvittaessa saapumisohjeet.

Hinta: 129 € / henkilö. Alennus opiskelijoille, eläkeläisille ja työttömille on - 20 €. Lähetä kuva alennustodistuksestasi osoitteeseen alennus@comets.fi ennen kurssin alkua.

Kursseille osallistuaksesi sinun pitää myös maksaa Cometsin jäsenmaksu, jos et jo ole sitä maksanut kuluvana vuonna. Jäsenmaksu on 25 € vuodessa. Jäsenmaksu laskutetaan erikseen.

Ilmoittautuminen: Kurssille voi osallistua niin parin kanssa, kuin ilmankin paria. 

Päästämme kurssille yksin ilmoittautuneita jonosta ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä siten, että viejiä ja seuraajia on suunnilleen tasamäärä. Mikäli epätasapaino viejien ja seuraajien suhteessa on suuri, saatat jäädä jonoon. Ilmoittautumisen peruminen jonopaikasta on maksutonta.

Saat vahvistuksen kurssipaikasta noin parin päivän kuluessa tai paritasapainon varmistuessa. 

Kurssipaikka on henkilökohtainen, eikä sitä voi luovuttaa toiselle henkilölle. Kurssin järjestäjän toimesta vahvistettu kurssipaikka on sitova, eikä sitä voi enää peruuttaa.

Olen tutustunut seuran sopimusehtoihin ja ilmoittautumalla kurssille hyväksyn ne.

Lasku: Maksathan kurssin laskun vasta eräpäivänä. Mikäli kurssi joudutaan perumaan vähäisen osanottajamäärän takia, voit jättää laskun maksamatta.

🇬🇧 COURSE DESCRIPTION

Improvers course is intended for you who have taken at least Rockabilly beginners course or know the basics of Rockabilly and know basics of lead and follow. During the course, you will learn new dance figures and refine the basics as basic step, dance position, dance technique, interpreting music, refine lead and follow. There will be a 50's atmosphere and the attitude of rock'n'roll music. Great music and a pleasant atmosphere create an excellent setting for your dance hobby.

Dress comfortably for the class. Please, bring a water bottle and wear low-soled dance shoes or other shoes with slippery soles.

The course will be held in Finnish but summarized in English, if needed.

We rotate partners during the lessons.

Instructors: Timo Huhtinen and Helena Metsä (Rockabilly Finnish Champions 2023 and 2024)

Time and location: The course has 12 lessons (12 x 90 min) on Sundays from 2:00 to 3:30pm between 11th January to 12th April 2026. There is an opportunity for half an hour of free practice after each lesson. Please note! No lesson on Sun 1st March nor Easter 5th April 2026.

Place: Dance Club Comets, studio 2, Mall of Tripla, P4 floor Down Under, Fredikanterassi 1, Helsinki. Please see arrival instructions.

Price: 129 € / person. Discount for students, pensioners and unemployed -20 €. Send your proof of discount status to alennus@comets.fi before the course starts.

You also need to pay Comets membership fee 25 € if you haven’t paid it yet for the current calendar year. It will be sent to you as a separate invoice.

Registration: You can register for the course with or without a partner. 

We let people without a partner from the queue in the registration order so that there are about equal number of followers and leaders. If the number of followers and leaders is imbalanced, you might not get out of the queue. The registration cancellation from the queue is free.

We let those who have registered with a partner to the course after both of them have registered themselves to the queue.

You will receive confirmation of the spot in the course within two days or as soon as the partner balance is equal. 

A course spot confirmed by the course organizer is binding and cannot be canceled. The spot on the course is personal and it cannot be given to another person. 

I have read the Terms and Conditions and by registering to the course I agree to these terms.

Invoice: Please pay the course invoice on the due date. If the course is cancelled because of too small number of participants, don’t pay the course invoice.
