KURSSIN PERUSTIEDOT

Tällä kurssilla keskitymme oppimaan useita eri idiomitansseja ja tutustumme niihin liittyvään musiikkiin. Mahdollistaaksemme mielekkään oppimiskokemuksen aloitamme kunkin idiomin perusteista, mutta pyrimme etenemään nopeasti syvemmälle ryhmän tasoon mukautuen ja eri vaihtoehtoja tarjoten. Jos siis monet idiomitansseista ovat sinulle jo tuttuja, pyrimme antamaan sinulle mahdollisuuden syventää osaamistasi. Kurssille ovat lämpimästi tervetulleita myös näitä idiomitansseja ensimmäistä kertaa opettelevat tanssijat, mutta bluesparitanssin perusteet tulisi olla hallussa ennen kurssille osallistumista. Idiomitansseja pidempään tanssineille suosittelemme kokeilemaan myös toista roolia.

Osallistujien edellytetään hallitsevan bluesparitanssin perusteet sekä Jooking että ballroom-tyyleissä (musiikkina esimerkiksi rytmikäs Chicago blues tai pehmeämpi jazz-pohjainen blues). Tällä kaudella on tarjolla myös kaksi alemman tason blueskurssia. Jos olet epävarma kurssin soveltuvuudesta, ota yhteyttä osoitteeseen blues@comets.fi tai kysy opettajilta.

Kurssilla on käytössä parinvaihto.

Kurssin valmennuskieli on suomi, jota täydennetään englanniksi tarvittaessa.

Kursseille osallistumisen edellytyksenä on, että Cometsin jäsenmaksu 25 € on maksettu. Jäsenmaksu laskutetaan erikseen.

Ilmoittautuminen: Kurssille voi osallistua niin parin kanssa kuin ilmankin paria. 

Päästämme kurssille yksin ilmoittautuneita jonosta ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä siten, että viejiä ja seuraajia on suunnilleen tasamäärä. Mikäli epätasapaino viejien ja seuraajien suhteessa on suuri, saatat jäädä jonoon. Ilmoittautumisen peruminen jonopaikasta on maksutonta.

Saat vahvistuksen kurssipaikasta noin parin päivän kuluessa tai paritasapainon varmistuessa. 

Huomioithan, että vahvistettua kurssipaikkaa ei voi perua.

Kurssipaikka on henkilökohtainen, eikä sitä voi luovuttaa ilman lupaa toiselle henkilölle.

🇬🇧 COURSE DESCRIPTION

 Blues idiom dances are blues dances that were born alongside blues music in different eras in various parts of the United States, for example Chicago Triple, Struttin’, Savoy Walk, Slow Drag, Harlem Slow Drag, Texas Shuffle, The Strut, Funky Butt, Fishtail, Four Corners, The Stride, Piedmont triple and Country Stepping. The dances in this dance family have developed in the same communities as the different blues music styles.

In this course we focus on learning several idiom dances and the music styles they are danced to. To ensure a meaningful learning experience for all, we start with the fundamentals of each dance, but aim to quickly delve deeper, adapting to the needs and abilities of the group, offering options. If you are already familiar with many idiom dances, we aim to offer you a chance to broaden your skills. We warmly welcome those, who try these styles for the first time, but you should know partnered blues basics. Those who have danced idiom dances for longer are also welcomed to sign up in a new dance role.

The participants are expected to know the basics of partnered blues dance in both jooking (often danced to rhythmic guitar blues) and ballroom styles (danced to jazzier blues). This season we are also offering two other partnered blues courses, beginners and improvers. If you are unsure of the suitability of this course for you, please contact blues@comets.fi or ask the instructors.

We rotate partners in class.

Location: Urhea-halli, taitosali, Mäkelänkatu 47.

Price: 179€ / person

Discount for students, pensioners and unemployed 20 €. Send your proof of discount status to alennus@comets.fi before the course starts.

You also need to pay Comets membership fee 25 € if you haven’t paid it yet for the current calendar year. It will be sent to you as a separate invoice.

Registration: You can register for the course with or without a partner. 

We let people without a partner from the queue in the registration order so that there are about equal number of followers and leaders. If the number of followers and leaders is imbalanced, you might not get out of the queue. The registration cancellation from the queue is free.

We let those who have registered with a partner to the course after both of them have registered themselves to the queue.

You will receive confirmation of the spot in the course within two days or as soon as the partner balance is equal. 

Please note that a confirmed spot on the course cannot be cancelled.

The spot on the course is personal and cannot be transferred to another person without permission.
