KURSSIN PERUSTIEDOT

Keskitason kurssi on tarkoitettu pitkään west coast swingiä tanssineille, joilla jatko ja jatko-keskitasokurssien asiat ovat hyvin hallussa. Keskitasolle voi osallistua, kun on käynyt 1-2 jatkoa sekä koko kauden mittaisen jatkokeskikurssin vähintään 1-2 kertaa - westikokemusta olisi hyvä olla takana vähintään 2 vuotta. Pystyt varioimaan tanssiasi; osaat muun muassa muuttaa tanssiasi soivaan musiikkiin sopivaksi ja osaat tanssia eri taitotasoilla olevien parien kanssa. Leirit ja westibileet ovat sinulle todennäköisesti jo tuttuja ja mieluisia, ja haluat syventää osaamistasi pystyäksesi luomaan itsellesi ja pareillesi yhä parempia hetkiä tanssilattialla. Kurssilla syvennytään mm. parityöskentelyyn, tanssin ja liikkeen jatkuvuuteen, tanssitekniikkaan ja musiikin tulkintaan. Kurssin sisältö vaihtuu joka kaudella, joten tällä tasolla voi viihtyä uutta oppien useiden vuosienkin ajan.

Kurssilla on käytössä parinvaihtorinki.

Kurssin valmennuskieli on suomi, jota täydennetään englanniksi tarvittaessa.

Aika: Kurssilla on 12 valmennuskertaa torstaisin klo 17.30 - 19.00 aikavälillä 4.9. – 11.12.2025. Valmennusta ei ole Finnfest prepartyn vuoksi 18.9., syysloman vuoksi 16.10. eikä Scandinavian Open (SNOW) - tapahtuman vuoksi 30.10.

Ennen ja jälkeen jokaista kurssikertaa on vapaaharjoitteluvuorot (klo 17.00 - 17.30 & 19.00 - 19.15), jonne kaikki kurssilaiset ovat tervetulleita treenaamaan.

Paikka: Valmennus pidetään Saksalaisella koululla, osoitteessa Malminkatu 14.

Hinta: 179 € / henkilö

Kursseille osallistumisen edellytyksenä on, että Cometsin jäsenmaksu 25 € vuodelle 2025 on maksettu. Jäsenmaksu laskutetaan erikseen.

Ilmoittautuminen: Kurssille voi osallistua niin parin kanssa, kuin ilmankin paria.

Päästämme kurssille yksin ilmoittautuneita jonosta ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä siten, että viejiä ja seuraajia on suunnilleen tasamäärä. Mikäli epätasapaino viejien ja seuraajien suhteessa on suuri, saatat jäädä jonoon. Ilmoittautumisen peruminen jonopaikasta on maksutonta.

Parin kanssa ilmoittautuneet pääsevät kurssille jonosta sen jälkeen, kun jälkimmäinen parista on ilmoittautunut.

Vahvistettu kurssipaikka on sitova. Kurssipaikka on henkilökohtainen, eikä sitä voi luovuttaa toiselle henkilölle.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This intermediate level (level 4) course is for those who have danced West Coast Swing for a while and who already feel confident with the things taught at improvers (level 2) and improvers-intermediate course (level 3). You can participate in the intermediate level if you have attended the West Coast Swing improvers (level 2) 1-2 times and improvers-intermediate level 1-2 times (it is recommended you have danced at least 2 years West Coast Swing before attending intermediate course). You can vary your dance; among other things, you are able to change your dance to match the music and you can dance with partners of different skill levels. Events and West Coast Swing parties are probably already familiar and enjoyable to you, and you want to deepen your skills to be able to create better and better moments on the dance floor for yourself and your partners. The course covers e.g. pair work, continuity of dance and movement, dance technique and interpretation of music. The content of the course changes every season, so you can enjoy dancing and learning at this level for several years.

We rotate partners during the lessons.

The teaching language of the course is Finnish and supplemented in English if needed.

Time: This course has 12 lessons on Thursdays between 4.9. – 11.12.2025. Due to Finnfest preparty there is no training on 18.9., no training on 16.10. due to autumn holiday and no training 30.10. due to Scandinavian Open event.
Before and after teaching there will be time for free practise (17:00 - 17:30 & 19:00 - 19:15), where everyone is welcome to join.

Place The course will be held at Deutsche Schule Helsinki (Malminkatu 14, Helsinki).

Price: 179 €/participant
Discount for students, pensioners and unemployed 20 €. Send your proof of discount status to alennus@comets.fi before the course starts.

You also need to pay Comets membership fee 25 € if you haven’t paid it yet for the current calendar year. It will be sent to you as a separate invoice.

Registration: You can register for the course with or without a partner.

We let people without a partner from the queue in the registration order so that there are about equal number of followers and leaders. If the number of followers and leaders is imbalanced, you might not get out of the queue. The registration cancellation from the queue is free.

We let those who have registered with a partner to the course after both of them have registered themselves to the queue.

You will receive confirmation of the spot in the course within two days or as soon as the partner balance is equal. 

Confirmed spot on the course is binding. The spot on the course is personal and it cannot be given to another person.
