KURSSIN PERUSTIEDOT
West coast swing on swingtanssi, jota tanssitaan mm. uusimpiin listahitteihin, R&B-musiikkiin, lyyrisiin balladeihin ja blues-musiikkiin. Kurssilla opetellaan west coast swingin perusteita: perusaskeleet, vientiä ja seuraamista, tekniikkaa ja peruskuvioita. Kurssin taidoilla pystyt hyvin osallistumaan jo alkavalla kaudella west coast swing -bileisiin!
Kurssilla on käytössä parinvaihtorinki.
Valmentajat: Jenni Päkkilä & Ingo Tõnnov, Outi Salonen & Tero Rahko
Kurssin valmennuskieli on suomi, jota täydennetään englanniksi tarvittaessa.
Aika: Kurssilla on 12 valmennuskertaa tiistaisin klo 19.15-20.45 aikavälillä 1.9.-24.11.2026. Valmennusta ei ole syyslomaviikolla 13.10.
Paikka: Helsingin Saksalainen koulu (Malminkatu 14)
Hinta: 129 € / henkilö.
Alennus opiskelijoille, työttömille ja eläkeläisille on 20 €. Lähetä kuva alennustodistuksestasi ennen kurssin alkamista osoitteeseen alennus@comets.fi
Kursseille osallistumisen edellytyksenä on, että Cometsin jäsenmaksu 25 € vuodelle 2026 on maksettu. Jäsenmaksu laskutetaan erikseen.
Ilmoittautuminen: Kurssille voi osallistua niin parin kanssa, kuin ilmankin paria.
Päästämme kurssille yksin ilmoittautuneita jonosta ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä siten, että viejiä ja seuraajia on suunnilleen tasamäärä. Mikäli epätasapaino viejien ja seuraajien suhteessa on suuri, saatat jäädä jonoon. Ilmoittautumisen peruminen jonopaikasta on maksutonta.
Saat vahvistuksen kurssipaikasta noin parin päivän kuluessa tai paritasapainon varmistuessa. Parin kanssa ilmoittautuneet pääsevät kurssille jonosta sen jälkeen, kun jälkimmäinen parista on ilmoittautunut.
Kurssipaikka on henkilökohtainen, eikä sitä voi luovuttaa toiselle henkilölle. Vahvistettu kurssipaikka on sitova.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
West Coast Swing is a swing dance that is danced e.g. the latest chart hits, R&B music, lyrical ballads and blues music. In this course you will learn the basics of West Coast Swing: basic steps, leading/following, technique and basic patterns. You will learn enough to be able to take part in the West Coast Swing parties already in the beginning season!
We rotate partners during the lessons.
Instructors: Jenni Päkkilä & Ingo Tõnnov, Outi Salonen & Tero Rahko
Teaching will be in Finnish, but we are happy to answer questions in English if needed.
Time: This course has 12 lessons on Tuesdays between 1.9.-24.11.2026 at 19.15- 20.45. There is no lesson on 13.10 due to autumn holiday.
Place: The course will be held at Deutsche Schule Helsinki (Malminkatu 14).
Entrance from the school courtyard. The women's locker room is on the left side of the school and the men's locker room is on the right side. You can park for free in the school courtyard.
Price: 129 €/participant
Discount for students, pensioners and unemployed 20 €. Send your proof of discount status to alennus@comets.fi before the course starts.
You also need to pay Comets membership fee 25 € if you haven’t paid it yet for the current calendar year. It will be sent to you as a separate invoice.
Registration: You can register for the course with or without a partner.
We let people without a partner from the queue in the registration order so that there are about equal number of followers and leaders. If the number of followers and leaders is imbalanced, you might not get out of the queue. The registration cancellation from the queue is free.
We let those who have registered with a partner to the course after both of them have registered themselves to the queue.
You will receive confirmation of the spot in the course within two days or as soon as the partner balance is equal.
Confirmed spot on the course is binding. The spot on the course is personal and it cannot be given to another person.
